Wood Energy Warehouse is Lexington Kentucky’s oldest woodstove store. The 5-story red brick warehouse was built in 1890 and was originally a cigarette factory.
We have 65 years of combined experience in the stove business. Wood Energy Warehouse was founded in 1978, being the oldest woodstove store in Central Kentucky. Some of the stoves carried back then were Fisher, Hawke, Morso and All Nighter.
Today, Wood Energy Warehouse has stoves in stock for cash and carry. We feature a showroom with stoves to choose from that are carried and sold in the store now by carriers such as Buck Stove and Vermont Castings. We can also help with your purchase via layaway.
Wood Energy Warehouse is located at 138 East Loudon Ave.; in the largest building on the street. The building; a 5-story red brick warehouse. Built originally as a 3-story tobacco factory in 1890, some where around 1910 the front 5-stories were added along with additional 2-stories on the rear. During the Great Depression a soup kitchen used the warehouse and rubber tires were stored and sorted for World War II.
In 2007, an army surplus store was added to diversify and offer year round hours. The army surplus warehouse is inside the stove store and is proud to be Lexington’s only real army surplus store with real army surplus.
